The EMCOR Service/Mesa Energy Systems Funny Car Team presented by Thermo Power Industries won their first race in Redding, CA. The team defeated Brad Faria in the final to capture their first win and to take over the 2008 CIFCA Points Lead. Faria left before the tree was activated & the Jam-Air team still ran a 7.59.

The Team qualified in the #4 position with a 7.60. The team defeated Mike Irwin in the first round with a early shut off 7.77.

In the second round, the team defeated #1 Qualifier Jeff Tildahl with another early shutoff run of 7.92. In the semi finals the team faced good friend Jamie Leppanen and defeated him with a 7.508 to Jamie's 7.54. The Margin of Victory was .003 or a distance of 7 feet.
