Jam Air Motorsports debuts
New Nitro Funny Car at 2011 March Meet
San Dimas, CA - March 17, 2011 - For the team the off season was full of hurry up and wait. After finally taking delivery of their new car they had less than 30 days to get the new nitro edition Jam Air Special completed and ready for testing. If it wasn't for the extraordinary amount of effort put forth by this exceptional crew pre-season testing and the March Meet would not have been possible.
Jam Air Crew Chief, Howard Mazei and his team have worked numerous hours to get this car ready to go down the track. "The time frame wasn't ideal and put us behind the eight ball a bit. Geoff, Keith, Scott, and Jeff all stepped up and put in countless hours at the shop to pull this off. We can't thank them enough for their efforts.", said Mazei
The Multistack sponsored Jam Air Special will make its debut at this years 53rd Annual March Meet with Will Martin behind the wheel. After winning two NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Championships, Will is looking forward to competing in the Nitro Funny Car class. "There is definitely a learning curve here stepping up with the new car, but we are as ready as we can be and thrilled to have this opportunity. In testing, I really didnt know what to expect. In this car as the clutch starts locking up it just keeps pulling. Its like getting shot out of a cannon." says Martin.
In 1988, John Martin showed up at the last "modern day" March Meet with a brand new Jam Air Special Funny Car and his team of Jimmy Prock, Ronnie Swearingen and Bob Brooks. That weekend in March they set the track et record and took home the win. In a perfect world Jam Air Motorsports would like to repeat history this weekend.
The entire Multistack Championship Alcohol team remains intact for the 2011 season. Bob Brooks has once again joined the Jam Air Special gang to get them sorted out this weekend. "Brooks has been a good friend of mine for over 25 years, and I am happy to be teamed up with him again.", said John Martin, Jam Air founder.
The 2011 March Meet will be held this weekend March 18-20th at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California.
