Driver: Will Martin From: San Dimas, CA Age: 27
This second generation driver enters into his 2nd year of competition behind the wheel of the Jam-Air Special. Will began his driving career in 1999 at the age of 18 by attending the Frank Hawley Drag Racing School. Later in 1999, Will drove in a South Carolina based group called Southern Fuel Coupes finishing 5th in points. After taking a 6 year hiatus, Will returned to competition with his family owned team. 2007 marked their first full season in competition finishing 8th in points. Will's daytime profession is as Technical Services Manager for EMCOR Service/Mesa Energy Systems Inc.
Team Leader: John Martin From: San Dimas, CA Age: 60
As founder of Jam-Air Motorsports, John had a very successful career in NHRA Drag Racing. The Vietnam Veteran is owner of John Martin Heating & Air, which fielded a series of Top Fuel Funny Cars in the 1980's. John began his funny car driving career with help from friend Charlie Allen at OCIR in 1980. John won several events including the last modern day March Meet, AHRA World Finals, 2 NHRA National Event runner-ups,Runner-Up in 1988 Big Bud Shootout, and 10th in NHRA points in 1988 with no sponsorship help.
Crew Chief: Howard Mazei From: Anaheim,CA Age: 38
Growing up in Glendale,CA, Howard was a avid motor head and baseball player until an arm injury finished his professional pitching career. Howard is an On-Board Diagnostics Engineer for American Honda with over 15 years involvement in drag racing. Howard has helped design and fabricate multiple parts on these funny cars including complete chassis. Howard is known to be very quiet yet takes a very methodical and logical approach to tuning these cars.
Car Chief: Geoff Monise From: San Dimas,CA Age:22
As grandson of former Datsun Factory SCCA Champion Frank Monise Sr, Geoff grew up in La Verne,CA. Geoff is a fabricator at Frank Monise Motors. He has worked & or restored such vehicles as Austin Healys, MG's, Jaguars, and multiple race cars.Geoff & Will have been friends for over 15 years. Geoff played a very vital role in building the car and mounting the current body. He also is the 2007 VARA Champion with his 1966 Midget Race Car.
Crew Member: Bryan Bruhn From: Anaheim,CA Age:50
As longtime friend of John, Bryan has been around racing for over 30 years. Having helped multiple Top Fuel teams, Bryan can do it all. A former Top Eliminator West Champion, Bryan has had a longtime friendship with Famous Amos Satrelee which has allowed to learn a lot. Bryan built a new TA/FC in 2006 which is currently having an altered body mounted on it.
Crew Member: Scott "Boots" Franklin From: Hermosa Beach,CA Age: 26
As the newest member of the team, Scott comes by way of Kansas. Scott is a very hard working individual. Scott works for American Honda in technical services for ACURA. When not helping with the car, he can be found riding his Honda 650 motorcycle.
Crew Member: Jeff Pepin From: Temecula, CA Age: 26
In his second season with the team, Jeff is a chiller technician by trade. Jeff's is responsible for the rear of the car including: parachutes, air systems, and body. Jeff can be found on his off weekends shooting in the desert with his friends or spending time with his wife Amber & their 2 kids.
